Born in Lahore, JAGDISH PRAKASH, started his career with Steel Authority of India as a management trainee after attaining a first class post graduate degree in Commerce. He left SAIL after a long and eventful association of 3 decades at a senior position to join a leading corporate organisation engaged in technology driven education system in India and abroad. He continues to be associated with this company. JAGDISH PRAKASH writes poetry in Urdu and English. 6 of his books of Urdu poetry and one of English have already been published. A book of his Urdu poems translated in English by a renowned poet from Pakistan, Prof. Mohammad Shanazar, has also been published. Three of his Urdu books have been awarded by Urdu Academy, Delhi. JAGDISH PRAKASH is also honoured as International Best Poet for the year 2014 by International Poetry and Research Centre (IPTRC), China and has also received Naji Namaan Literary Prize for the year 2017. His Urdu poetry has been set to music and sung by renowned music composers and singers like Yunus Malik, Kavita Seth, Bharathi Vishwanathan and Archita Bhattacharya. A music album based on his poetry sung by renowned play back singer,, Kavita Seth, has been published by Universal Music. JAGDISH PRAKASH is married, has two children and lives in Delhi NCR.
